- Learn how to use contour line to define shape and volume.
- Learn how line wight and value can change the perception of the object.
THE ASSIGNMENT
You will draw 10 objects in contour lines from direct observation, this means no drawing from a screen of print. Draw what is around you, draw your world, and explore. For this project you should draw things in your home, your own hands, your friends, draw in the landscape (put on a warm coat), at the library, the mall, at a museum, to name a few. Take your sketchbook and push yourself to see the world more fully. This is an exercise in seeing as much as drawing. You will be graded on both the variety of objects and the quality of the drawings. Finally, you will redraw the best of the 10 with greater detail, you can combine more objects to make a still-life if you wish. See the above images as examples.
