THE ASSIGNMENT
For this project you will pick a single event which impacted your life. This can be an event you experienced first-hand, or something that happened within the world that affected you. You will be illustrating this event using a linear-narrative form to create a flipbook. You want to tell the story of this experience in a compelling and original way.
The book does not have to utilize text, but it can if you wish. Follow the steps below to get started:
First, you will make a mind map organizing your thoughts on the event.
Second, you will make a list of 10 ways that you could illustrate your event through a series of drawings. List making is a form of brainstorming to point is to find original and effective ways of describing your event – avoiding clichés. Choose the most effective approach from your list.
Third, you will make a flipbook with a minimum of 50 images visually illustrating your event. The book needs to narrate the event in chronological order in a unique and compelling way. You can use photographs, digital drawings or drawings made by hand.
